Unfortunately Rajni Ghir, 24, did not make it into the final but she is hoping Gaana Rajas will continue to bring the traditional eastern style of dance to the “mainstream”.

She said: “Being on the show has been very surreal, we have had so many dress rehearsals. The whole experience has been crazy and a lot of hard work, but so enjoyable for all ten of us.”

The group, who are all aged between 21-27 years of age, first met whilst competing in dance competitions at university.

The former Seven Kings High School, Ley Street, Seven Kings, student added: “It was amazing to be part of the competition, especially as traditional dancing doesn’t normally do as well. We were even trending on Twitter on Sunday night.

“We will continue as a group and we hope to bring the Gaana style to the mainstream and help people understand it even more.”

Ilford’s Christopher Balbastro, of IMD, is in with a chance of winning £250,000 in the live final on March 17.
