The college in Little Heath, Barley Lane, came first out of 32 further education colleges in the Capital according to figures and had an overall success rate of 87.8 per cent.

Principal Theresa Drowley said: “I am incredibly proud of the remarkable success we achieve here, which is a testament to the dedication of our staff.

“The success rate figures exemplify the high expectations we have for our learners – we are inspiring them to focus and build upon their strengths, to prepare them for university or the world of work.”

The figures, which measure learner achievement in full-time and short courses, were published by The Data Service 2010/11.
