At least 53 schools will be affected by the teacher strike tomorrow, as union members protest against an “unsustainable” workload and government changes to pay and pensions.

The national walk-out, organised by the National Union of Teachers (NUT), will see at least 18 Redbridge schools fully closed, with a further 35 partially closed.

It comes on the back of a series of strikes last year as part of a campaign against government changes to pay, pensions and workloads.

Christine Blower, general secretary of the NUT, said union members were left with “no alternative.”

What do you think about the strike? Are you a teacher or a parent? Vote in our poll and let us know your thoughts by emailing sam.gelder@archant.co.uk or calling 020 8477 3810.
