Two people have been taken to hospital after a police vehicle on an emergency call was involved in a collision with two cars in Seven Kings.
A bus stop was destroyed when one of the cars, described as black, smashed into it at around 3pm.
It is now being removed along with wreckage from the crash in High Road, near McDonald’s.
Witnesses said a uniform police car was “smashed from both ends” and left facing the wrong direction in the road.
A Redbridge Police spokesman said the police car and a black Vauxall Astra collided while the police car was “responding to an emergency call”.
The black car was left inside the bus stop and another further up the road.
Three ambulances were called to the scene and treated two people.
A man believed to be in his 30s was taken to Queen’s Hospital in Romford with neck pain.
The London Ambulance Service had no details on the second patient, who witnesses said was a woman.
