Health trust NHS North East London and the City will be asked to make a “go/no go” decision on March 7 following a review of services at Queen’s.

If the move is approved, women will give birth at the Romford hospital, leaving antenatal clinics, scans and parenting education at King George.

The Care Quality Commission found vast improvements had been made to the troubled department at Queen’s in a December inspection.
