Redbridge Homes, an arms length company which has managed the borough’s housing stock for several years, has been dissolved.

The council took back full responsibility for its properties on August 1.

At a full council meeting, held last week in Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford, Liberal Democrat Cllr Gwyneth Deakins asked why the borough tenant and leaseholder conferences have been postponed from the autumn until March.

Housing cabinet member Cllr Michelle Dunn said the recruitment of senior managers in the housing department is forcing the delay.

She added: “I want it to be a new start and to introduce new people.”
