A doctor who was involved in the controversy over the MMR jab and links to autism will sign copies of an updated edition of his autobiography in Woodford Green.

Professor John Walker-Smith visits The Village Bookshop in High Road on October 6 to discuss his autobiography Enduring Memories.

He successfully won a high court battle against a General Medical Council (GMC) determination in March.

The body had found Professor Walker-Smith, who conducted research into links between autism and the jab for measles, mumps and rubella, guilty of serious professional misconduct.

The book now includes a chapter on the GMC hearing, as well as recounting his medical career and his childhood in Sydney.

It also provides a “vivid account” of life in the National Health Service from 1973 to 2000 when he retired.

Call the bookshop on 020 8506 0551 for more details.
