All the children at the school in Fullwell Avenue, Barkingside, wore red, white and blue for the day and enjoyed a special lunch and traditional games including hopscotch and pin the tail on the donkey.

The celebrations were delayed at the school so all the pupils could take part.

Head teacher Lenna Rosenberg said: “We were going to have it before the weekend but some of the children were away and we didn’t want anyone to miss it.

“In a way it was nice to carry on the jubilee celebrations after everything people did over the holiday.”
