Visitors to the Exchange Ilford, in High Road, Ilford, had a chance to meet Sid and Scrat from the movie and have their photographs taken with them.

The shopping centre, which has organised a number of summer events for families, hoped the larger than life characters would bring a smile to children’s faces as they shopped with their parents.

The computer-animated film, which was first released in 2002, follows the story of a Sabertooth tiger, a sloth and a woolly mammoth as they try to return a lost baby to his tribe during the Ice Age.

Youngsters can meet Harry Potter characters, Dumbledore and Hagrid, at the centre tomorrow (Friday) and on Saturday between noon and 4pm.
