Hundreds of schoolchildren have been practicing for the performance of their lives at the Royal Albert Hall.
Singers and musicians from 56 primary and secondary schools in the borough will be part of the Redbridge Schools’ Choral Festival on March 18.
The extravaganza will include traditional classics like the national anthem and Holst’s Planets suits as well as African drumming, dance, jazz and even hits by The Beatles.
There will also be a poetry reading to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.
The festival happens twice a year, involving about 2,000 pupils backed by the Redbridge Music School Symphony Orchestra.
The music school offers tuition from children and adults of all ages and holds regular concerts and recitals.
Tickets are available from the John Savage Centre. Call 020 8501 3944 or visit www.redbridgemusic.org.uk.
