55 per cent of exams taken at the school in High Road resulted in A* grades and 97 per cent led to A*, A or B grades. Though no languages feature in the top 10 most popular GCSE subjects this year nationally, Bancroft’s’ pupils excelled in Spanish, with 81 per cent getting an A*, and in German, with 70 per cent getting the same grade.

81 per cent of chemistry students got an A.

Headteacher Mary Ireland said: “Congratulations to all our hard working students on their results and also to the talented staff who continue to inspire them.”
