Shammi Atwal, 45, was hit by a lorry outside his drinks wholesale company, Glenn and Company Limited, in Barking on October 14.

It is claimed he was struggling with a group carrying sledgehammers and iron bars.

Vidmantas Gonskoves, 26, of Grange Road, Plaistow; Farhan Sheikh, 38, of Thornhill Gardens, Barking; Reiniks Kivers, 28, and Aurimas Diliunas, 27, both of no fixed address, today denied manslaughter and conspiracy to rob at the Old Bailey.

They will be tried on April 7.
