Frenford Falcons was set up at the Jack Carter Centre, The Drive, Ilford and it holds weekly sessions on a Sunday, from 12.30pm-2pm.

It held an open taster session on Sunday to give people a chance to experience the sport.

The club has teamed up with both Vision Redbridge and the Great Britain Basketball Team to offer sessions to children over 10 and adults. Manager Irfan Shah, said: “Long-term we would like to increase participation in the sport and hopefully go on to produce national players. We also do outreach courses for schools.

“Hopefully, a local league will be set up next year and anyone can take part.

“Our sessions are usually a 50 per cent split, with half of people who use a wheelchair on a daily basis. People are invited to come along; the first session is always free.”
