Blue Star Productions are back with West End Songbook, celebrating some of the best-loved musicals of all time with an extensive set list of more than 40 songs.

Popular tunes from shows such as Chicago, My Fair Lady, Oliver, The Sound of Music, Singin’ In The Rain and Phantom of the Opera will be performed by seven talented singers.

Narrator Barry Stacey said: “The show is packed with wonderful songs performed by superb singers under the direction of one of the best musical directors in the business, David Carter.

“Singers include Keith Hopkins who played the Dame at the Kenneth More in Jack And The Beanstalk a few years ago and Lucy Lavelle, who played Cinderella in last year’s pantomime.”

After the show, the cast will spend time meeting the audience and signing autographs.

Mr Stacey added: “It is difficult to single out my favourite song as there are so many different styles from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Irving Berlin, to Andrew Lloyd Webber. We do try and select the most popular scores from West End shows.

“We had such a terrific reaction from the audience on our last visit that we were booked to return immediately.”

It is on at the Kenneth More Theatre, Oakfield Road, Ilford, on Tuesday at 2pm. Tickets, priced at £13.50, include a cream tea.
