Was this peacock looking for love in Newbury Park?
The exotic bird was spotted strutting down Aldborough Road North in the sunshine on Saturday, much to the surprise of passers-by.
Amar Sanghera, who snapped it near The Dick Turpin pub, said: “It was strolling about but it looked like it knew where it was going.”
The peacock was not far from its home at Aldborough Hall Farm, in the same road.
Owner Shirley Rudge said her 11 peacocks are “wild birds” allowed to go where they fancy.
“They are mating at this time of year so they get a bit edgy,” she added.
Another of the birds, an unusual white peacock, ruffled feathers when it was seen wandering around the same area in September.
He eventually had to be confined for his own safety after developing a taste for unhealthy snacks from drinkers at the Dick Turpin pub.
