Daughter of Paralympic Games founder to visit South Woodford

Sports fans can gain some first-hand knowledge of the development of the Paralympic Games when a volunteer at the inaugural 1948 Games speaks in South Woodford.
Eva Loeffler OBE, the vice-president of Wheelpower, the national association for wheelchair sport, visits Woodford Liberal Synagogue in Marlborough Road, South Woodford, on August 19.
She is the daughter of Sir Ludwig Guttmann who founded the 1948 International Wheelchair Games in Stoke Mandeville, the forerunner of the Paralympic Games which start in Stratford on August 29.
The talk begins at 4pm and is free.
