Budding Ilford artists exhibit their work after two years of GCSE studies

Talented GCSE art students had the chance to display their work to friends and family last week, in their first exhibition at their school.
Year 11 pupils at Valentines High School, Cranbrook Road, Gants Hill, opened up their classroom to display their final work which they have been working towards for two years.
The students were given the theme of journeys to work on and have visited both the London Art Fair and the National Portrait Gallery earlier this year to get inspiration.
Head of art at the school Elham Taner said: “Each year the work the students produce gets better and better. We wanted to celebrate their achievement by holding an exhibition so others could see what they had done.
“We wanted the pupils to research artists, and the trips helped them do this as well as encouraging them to develop their own work.”
