Armed Forces Day, which is being held across the country on June 30, is a chance to raise public awareness of the contributions made by those who serve and have served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces.

Cadets, soldiers and veterans will take part in a parade and will gather outside Redbridge Town Hall at 10.15am to raise the Armed Forces Day flag.

Mayor Cllr Muhammed Javed will watch the parade before the a chaplain will offer prayers for the armed forces.

The Royal British Legion, Army Cadet Force, Air Cadets, SSAFA Forces Help, 217 Squadron and Royal Naval Association will also have stalls giving information about the work they do and how people can get involved.

If you would like to show your support for both current servicemen and women and veterans, you can post a message on the council’s website www.redbridge.gov.uk/armedforcesday.
