A charity is set to benefit from a year’s fundraising thanks to staff and customers at one of the borough’s supermarkets.
Sainsbury’s, in Tanners Lane, Barkingside, has chosen Redbridge Concern for Mental Health (RCMH) as its new local charity partner for 2012/2013, which was voted for by shoppers.
The partnership was officially launched on Saturday and customers can now choose to make a donation in-store for RCMH which is situated in Ilford Lane, Ilford.
The charity was founded in early 1990s and works with and for people with mental health problems in Redbridge.
During the next 12 months, colleagues will be providing fundraising support for RCMH and raising awareness of the charity in the community.
Store manager, Chris Wager, said: “RCMH is such a worthy local cause and we’re pleased and proud to be supporting it.
“We’ll be letting our customers know of our fundraising plans in-store and we hope they can join our colleagues in helping support them”.
