All councillors voted in favour of the grant requested by Ros Southern, chair of the Redbridge Green Fair Association, in aid of their proposed music and arts event.

However, the committee asked in return for a report before their next meeting on the success of the previous year’s event in order to see if investment in the borough-wide event is justified.

Cllr Filly Maravala (Independent, Loxford) said: “We need to know if this money is spent well.”

Area committee six covers Clementswood, Loxford and Mayfield wards.
