All parks in Redbridge have been closed for a second time while they are checked for storm damage.
Redbridge Council has shut every park in the borough while damage to trees from storm St Jude is assessed.
Some reopened on Monday and Tuesday after the storm passed and debris was cleared but the public are not being allowed in today “as a precaution”.
Tree surgeons are checking for unstable branches and trees that could still be a danger.
More than 100 trees were blown down, along with walls, roofs and even a gazebo in high winds overnight on Sunday and into Monday morning.
No serious injuries were reported in Redbridge after a week of warnings leading up to the storm but damage costs are expected to run into hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The parks will reopen one by one when inspections are finished. Check the Redbridge Council website for updates.
