Several Newham community groups were awarded by a health organisation for making a positive difference to the wellbeing of residents.

Formerly funded by NHS Newham and now by the Clinical Commissioning Group, Communities of Health accredit groups who show best practice and a significant health contribution in their communities.

In a ceremony on Thursday at St Mark’s Community Centre in Beckton, Bajuni Women’s Advocacy Group, SubCo Trust, NAC Resource Centre, Tate & Lyle Sugars, The Well Community Centre, Progressive Women Association, Association of Prostate Awareness, The Drop in Bereavement Centre, IROKO Theatre Company, Salem Health Project, Community Links, Hart Culture CIC, Newham Action Against Domestic Violence, and the West Ham United Community Sports Trust.
