A group of new police sergeants are raring to go after joining Redbridge’s force.

The borough has recruited 11 officers to add to their team, with eight of them uniformed and three of them to work in the CID.

They are Sgt Asghar, Sgt Chamberlaine, Sgt Chatten, Sgt Chilton, Sgt Gill, Det Sgt Kirwan, Sgt Newman, Det Sgt Pearl, Det Sgt Qureshi, Sgt Stobo and Sgt Westbrook.

Sgt Paul Chilton said: “I am really looking forward to my new role as a sergeant at Redbridge. Redbridge is a great borough to work with residential, rural and town centre areas and a diverse community.

“I look forward to continuing to reduce crime and delivering a first-class service to the communities of Redbridge.”

Acting Ch Insp Clive Darvill said: “We are pleased to welcome 11 new sergeants to Redbridge. These new officers will complement the increase in constable numbers we have seen over the last six months.

“The sergeants will be working to deliver further reductions in crime within the borough.”
