Harry Singh, who is the inspiration behind Richard House’s Harry’s Million campaign to raise £1million, will be featured on Channel Four’s 4Thought programme straight after the 7pm news show.

He will speak about his acceptance of death and what he hopes will happen at the end of his life.

Harry is the man behind the Harry’s Million campaign. He is trying to raise £1m to help pay for nurses and play and care workers at Richard House Children’s Hospice, in Newham, East London.

On the programme, he says: “When I was 18, I met this woman who was around 50 and suffered from the same condition as me. However, she was more degenerated.

“I saw her being pushed about in a trolley bed. She was very shrivelled and weak and she couldn’t speak properly. It scared the living hell out of me. I did think to myself I would rather die young.

“But death is just one of those things you have to face. It’s all about the manner in which you pass away.”

Richard House supports almost 300 families caring for children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and complex healthcare needs. Families come from across London, Essex and the Home Counties.
