Proving that good things come in small packages, this is the Tight Modern exhibition displaying work from artists in the borough.

The artists beat off hundreds of competition entrants to win the chance to display their work in a garden shed-sized gallery inside Redbridge Central Library, Clements Road, Ilford.

Based on central London’s Tate Modern, the miniature building – measuring 8ft by 5ft – opened on Monday allowing people to view the collages, paintings, illustrations, and photographs.

The project’s director, Dominique De-Light of Creative Future, said: “The quality and potential of the work shows what people can achieve when they are given the opportunity.”

Visitors to the Tight Modern, who vote for their favourite piece of work, will be entered into a draw to win £100.

The exhibition runs until March 2.
