The Redbridge Disabled Women’s Welfare Association (RDWWA) had a special guest at their welcome lunch earlier today.
Cllr Ashley Kissin, mayor of Redbridge, joined the ladies for an afternoon of delicious food and dancing at the Jack Carter centre.
RDWWA coordinator, Severine Kaleem, said: “It was very lively and very friendly.
“It was a really nice afternoon.”
The mayor and his wife walked around the tables after the lunch and spoke to each of the members individually before the dancing started.
Ms Kaleem added: “The mayor did a quick speech and had a good dance as well which was quite nice.
“It was really nice of him to get so involved with the dancing.”
The next event for the RDWWA will be a charity dinner at the Spice Village in Ilford on September 5 which will be donating money to the Royal British Legion.
