Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a man wanted in connection with two burglaries and assaulting a police officer in Ilford.

Viral Prodan, 48, was arrested for assaulting a bailiff and a police officer on June 7 2014 in Coventry Road, Ilford.

He was charged in connection with the incident and appeared at a magistrates’ court where he was granted court bail.

He subsequently failed to appear for trial at Southwark Crown Court on December 1 2014 and was convicted in his absence, receiving 10 months imprisonment.

Since then Prodan has been forensically linked to two burglaries, one which occurred on September 3 2014 in Hertford Road, Edmonton and another which occurred most recently, on Saturday, July 2 this year in Holcombe Road, Ilford.

Prodan is described as approximately 5ft 7ins tall , of a proportionate build, with hazel eyes and dark hair. He is believed to frequent the east London area.
