Man, 25, charged with rape of 18-year-old woman in Wanstead park

A 25-year-old man has been charged with the rape of 18-year-old woman in a Wanstead park.

Officers were called to Nutter Lane at around 9.15am to reports of an alleged rape in nearby Roding Valley Park on February 7.

Detectives investigating the case have arrested and charged a 25-year-old male of no fixed abode on Tuesday (February 13).

This man remains in custody and was due to appear at an east London Magistrate’s Court yesterday (February 14).

The investigating officer DS Fedder said “I would like to thank members of the community for their assistance and support in this investigation.
