Counting is under way in the 2014 local elections at Redbridge Town Hall.

The first results are expected to be announced between 2am and 3am.

False reports throughout the day had suggested results would be announced much later.

All the parties have been battling it out on the campaign trail in recent weeks, but we will not know how they have fared until later this morning.

For the very latest updates visit the local election section on the Ilford Recorder website. A live blog of the night’s action will be available there.

We will be publishing results as they are announced and reaction when we get it.
