Knife-wielding man threatens resident in Clayhall

A knife-wielding robber threatened a resident and attempted to take a car in Clayhall this morning.

Police were called at 1.21am on Wednesday, August 8, to reports of a man attempting to steal a vehicle on Clayhall Avenue.

A Met Police spokesman said: “The victim saw an unknown male sat in the front seat of a family member’s car.

“The suspect then exited the vehicle and was challenged by the victim.

“The suspect then threatened the victim with a knife before running off with another man and leaving in a silver car.”

The victim was not injured and no arrests have been made.

Officers searched the area but did not find the suspect.

Inquiries continue and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting 430/08AUG.
