The grounds of a hospice are set to be put in order after receiving a grant of £500 from a supermarket in Newbury Park.
St Francis Hospice, which helps those with terminal illnesses to have the best quality of life possible, will use the money to maintain their communal gardens.
The money was raised by selling bags at the Sainsbury’s in King George Avenue, Newbury Park.
David Shannon, from Sainsbury’s, said: “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important we do as much as we can to support it.
The supermarket has chosen the hospice, which is in Romford but covers Redbridge, as their charity of the year
Mr Shannon said: “When we heard about Saint Francis Hospice we were really pleased to be able to help out.”
