The man has been airlifted to hospital by air ambulance for treatment to serious injuries.

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling in Station Road, Ilford.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.46am today following a report that a man had fallen.

Initial reports suggested that the man had fallen from a building but this was later confirmed to be untrue,

The air ambulance also attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Station Road remains cordoned off between Bodgers and Speedy Cash, just down from Ilford train station.

A Metropolitan Police said inquiries are under way to establish the circumstances of the incident.
