The controversial High Definition Festival has moved to Kent after fights, drug-taking and mayhem at last year’s event in Hainault.

The one-day festival will be held in Eridge Park, Tunbridge Wells, in July, after three years at Forest Farm.

At least 900 people used fake tickets to enter the concert last year, forcing stewards to turn people with legitimate passes away.

Organisers issued an apology after the “sizeable undesirable element” got in, with some scaling fences.

The HD Festival attracted 15,000 and was headlined by Labrinth and Ms Dynamite.

Although popular with the audience who travelled from around the country, nearby residents complained of “unbearable noise and disruption”.

Cllr Joyce Ryan said it was simply “too big” for Hainault and would do better elsewhere.

She added: “The trouble it caused last year was unbelievable – two [drug] overdoses, arrests and stabbings.”

Redbridge Police had pushed for the licence to be revoked, saying there was a risk that festival-goers would be “in danger and may come to serious harm”.
