A professional YouTuber and another man have denied breaching gambling laws after an inquiry into a website inviting bets in a virtual currency.

Craig Douglas, 31, of Robinia Close, Hainault, and 33-year-old Dylan Rigby will face trial next year after pleading not guilty to charges under the 2005 Gambling Act.

Douglas denied two charges of promoting an unlicensed lottery, one of inviting a child to gamble, and two of advertising unlawful gambling, when he appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Rigby, of Creffield Road, Colchester, pleaded not guilty through his lawyer to six charges of providing facilities for gambling, two of promoting an unlicensed lottery, and two of advertising unlawful gambling.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between June 2015 and February this year.

Douglas, who makes a living by posting videos online, and Rigby were both granted unconditional bail until their trial starts on February 6.
