Gardeners set to battle it out in Redbridge in Bloom contest

PUBLISHED: 11:16 09 June 2014

Green-fingered residents have the chance to receive recognition for their gardens by entering an annual contest.

The Redbridge in Bloom competition is now open for entries, with six categories available for residents and businesses to enter.

People can also nominate a garden which has caught their eye.

The categories are Best Front Garden, Best Container Garden, Best Public House, Best Sheltered Housing/Residential Care Home, Best Community Display and Best School Gardening Project.

The judges will be looking for an imaginative use of flowers and shrubs and marks will be awarded for the colour, condition and quality of plants, as well as the layout and overall impact.

The closing date is June 27, with judging due to take place in the week of July 7.

For more information or to enter, visit the leisure and culture section at redbridge.gov.uk.
