Redbridge Music Service held the annual Redbridge Schools’ Recorder Festival across two evenings, which saw 250 primary and secondary school pupils entertain residents.

The shows featured a range of classic and more modern songs and both finished with performances of Tequila, with the instruments adorned with sun hats and ribbons.

Many of the schools included a solo item and teachers also took part in a performance.

Organiser Maggie Goble said: “I was delighted with the children’s standard of performance and I am constantly impressed by how much their dedicated teachers manage to fit into the school day.”

The festival took place at St Mary’s Church, in High Road, South Woodford, and St Andrew’s Church, The Drive, Ilford.
