The Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre was given a plaque by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) for the provision it provides to young people.

The award was presented by Tim Anderton, from the association, to Cllr Joyce Ryan, who accepted it on behalf of the centre.

Also in attendance were two Team GB sailors and the sailing team from the London Youth Games.

The RYA has a scheme called On Board which encourages young people to get involved in the sport.
