Elderly man ‘critical’ after car’s collision with tree in Barkingside

A man in his 80s remains in a critical condition after a car crashed into a tree in Civic Way, Barkingside, this morning.

Police, ambulance crew and firefighters were called shortly after 10am.

The elderly man was rushed to an east London hospital along with a woman in her 80s who sustained minor injuries, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said.
