Driver arrested after teenage passenger dies in A12 crash in east London

The driver of a Vauxhall Corsa which smashed into the barriers near the Moby Dick junction of the A12 has been arrested after one of his passengers died in the collision.
Police said the 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene in Chadwell Heath last night, after officers and paramedics were called to the trunk road in Chadwell Heath at 10.15pm.
He was believed to have been the front seat passenger in the car.
A spokesman or the Met said officers believe they know his identify but await formal identification while his next of kin are informed.
Police are appealing for information on the crash, which also hospitalised two other people.
One of them was the driver, a 21-year-old man, who has since been arrested. His condition is not believed to be serious.
A 20-year-old woman, believed to have been the rear seat passenger in the Corsa, was also taken to hospital where her condition is described as ‘serious but not life-threatening’.
