Not even legends Sir Chris Hoy or Bradley Wiggins have emulated the marathon cycle ride of 12-year-old Jake Phipps.

He has just become the first person to cycle to every Olympic venue in the UK- a distance of 2012km to raise money for Action for Children and Access Sport

Jake, from Worcestershire, aims to raise £20,000. He set off from Hamden Park, Glasgow, on June 9, arriving at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford 6, two days earlier than expected.

Sports-mad Jake attracted sponsorship from Official London 2012 Product Producer Hornby who donated £1,000 and kit for his challenge.

Pictured outside the stadium Jake said: “It’s been a fantastic experience and we’ve met some amazing people. I’ve really enjoyed being out on the road, although it’s was very hard work at times!

Since setting off, Jake visited Games football venues at St James’ Park in Newcastle, Old Trafford in Manchester, Coventry City Stadium, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and the Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy. Along the way he met current and future British Olympians to add to meeting Olympic heroes Sir Steve Redgrave and British cyclist Ed Clancy MBE.
