A college open day welcomed a record number of visitors with people learning about courses on offer and even picking up new skills.

About 1,250 people visited Redbridge College on Saturday for the family fun open day. It included a free barbecue, bouncy castle and face painting.

Visitors could also learn new skills such as how to make smoothies, mix a music track and put on make-up.

Staff and students were present at the campus in Little Heath, Barley Lane.

They were able to give guidance about courses and general college life.
