Man, 23, in court after Pc suffers broken leg in motorbike crash

A 23-year-old man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a Redbridge police officer sustained a broken leg when he was hit by a motorbike on Sunday evening.

James Howson, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Redbridge Magistrates Court today, also charged with dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

A male police constable was put in hospital by a collision with a motorbike in Clayhall on Wensleydale Avenue, near the junction with Chalgrove Crescent, at around 6.30pm.
