Christchurch Primary School, in Wellesley Road, raised the money for Childreach International and PEACHY with non-uniform days, a sponsored skip and school fair.

Last week, representatives from the charities visited the school to talk to pupils about their work.

Childreach Internatinal collected a cheque for £4,440 and PEACHY got £900.

Christchurch school is linked with Kibo Primary School in Moshi, Tanzania, which teachers Catherine Coop, Navneet Padda and Sarah Cox visited in April.

The money raised will be used for a new kitchen to replace the wood shed and log stove being used, and staff training at the school.

Barclays also donated £750 match funding for the money raised at Christchurch’s autumn fair.
