Ilford man denies assaulting motorist waiting in traffic

A 23-year-old has pleaded not guilty to assaulting a man sitting in a car in a traffic queue.

Ruyal Miah, of Belmont Road, Ilford, is charged with carrying an offensive weapon and assault by beating of Wagas Sohail on January 18 in Green Lane, Ilford. The defendant elected to remain under the magistrate’s jurisdiction for his trial when he appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court, Cranbrook Road, Barkingside last Thursday.

Mr Miah, who denies being in Green Lane on the day in question, will appear before Romford Magistrates on September 14.
