The 24-year-old was stopped on a motorbike in Station Road around 4.45pm on Thursday.

Officers seized 200 wraps of the class A drug and arrested him for possession with intent to supply.

The man has been bailed to return to Ilford Police Station.

Checkpoints were set up across Redbridge on the day to tackle uninsured drivers and target criminals using number plate scanners.

Eight vehicles were seized in the borough and three people were arrested.

It was the tenth day of the London-wide operation, which was launched last October.

Head of Operation Cubo, Commander Steve Watson said: “We are targeting criminals by denying them the use of the roads so it’s much harder for them to commit crime.

“We’re also helping to make London’s roads safer as uninsured drivers are more likely to have collisions and less likely to have road-worthy vehicles.”

Nearly 26,000 vehicles have been seized since the operation began.
