An Ilford man jailed for committing sex offences against children is back in prison after breaching his Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
Ian Savage, 50, of Coventry Road, Ilford, was jailed in 2007 for three years after being found guilty of committing a sexual offence against a child.
On his release he was placed under a Sexual Offences Prevention Order which sought to stop him from seeking out the company of children, being in the company of children, or visiting an address where there would be children present without informing their parents he was on the sex offenders register.
He was also banned from working with children and put on the sex offenders register for life.
Redbridge Police received information that Savage was breaching this order and arrested him on October 24.
Savage appeared at Redbridge Magistrate’s Court on November 13 and was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on December 6 to 16 months in prison.
Det Insp Craig Robinson, at Ilford Police Station, said: “This was a very good piece of work from DC Claire Phillips and her team.”
