A crash closed westbound carriageways of the A12 George Green Tunnel this afternoon.

Transport for London (TfL) said the accident caused tailbacks past Redbridge Roundabout, with police adding the collision involved a car and a motorbike and no life-threatening injuries had been sustained.

The road was temporarily closed following the incident at around 1pm, and fully reopened by 3.30pm.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) said a 55-year-old man was treated for arm injuries and taken to the major trauma centre and the Royal London.
