Convicted murderer Lerone Boye has appeared in court accused of escaping lawful custody.
Boye, who was sentenced to at least 28 years in prison for the murder of 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford in 2012, was caught by police in Chigwell in January.
He had previously been held at the John Howard Centre in Homerton.
Boye appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court today but did not enter a plea.
He is due to appear at the court on March 10 to enter his plea.
Dean Ablakwa, 29, from north London, who is charged with conspiracy to assist in the escape of a prisoner and possession of a Class B drug, also appeared at the court and pleaded not guilty.
He is due to stand trial on April 23.
Three other men are also serving life sentences for Mr Chibueze’s murder.
