When a group of singers discovered one of their members had Parkinson’s disease they got together to arrange a concert to raise cash for charity.
Glade Community Singers (GCS) sang their hearts out at the Redbridge Social Centre, Beehive Lane, Gants Hill, two weeks ago to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and the Alzheimer’s Society.
“Music can be a fantastic way for people with dementia to express themselves and interact creatively with others,” said GCS founder, Davida Robinson.
“We had a fabulous and very enjoyable event, raising £325 for our chosen charities.”
The group practice at Glade Primary School, Atherton Road, Clayhall on Mondays between 6.30pm and 8pm.
