A grass verge which has been allowed to grow “like a jungle” has led this couple to call for the council to cut it back.
Kay Osborne, of Brinkworth Road, Clayhall, standing with her husband Allan, says she has not seen the patch of grassland in Claybury Broadway grow this long in more than 40 years of living in Clayhall.
“It is like a jungle,” she said. “I have lived here for 40 odd years and it has never been as bad as this.
“This is a nice area but it is not nice at the moment.
“The council normally cut it back at least twice a year, but it has not been cut back for ages.”
A council spokesman confirmed the local authority had received complaints from residents regarding the grass.
The spokesman said: “The area at Claybury Broadway had accidentally been excluded from the grounds maintenance contract. “We have moved quickly to rectify this and are happy to say that the grass bank will be cut very soon and as part of the contract will be cut eight times per year.”
